STRING POTS BY SERIES / SPS-MIN
Subminiature Wire Pots for Aerospace, Crash & Robotics
Specify a small wire pot around the available envelope, moving mass and string tension. Suitable configurations can be reviewed for university robots, rehabilitation equipment and laboratory fixtures.

BEFORE THE DRAWING IS RELEASED
Three checks for your configuration
- Required envelope and mass limit: provide a drawing
- Cycle speed, acceleration, string tension and fatigue duty
- Test environment, shock profile and acceptance evidence
Original model review: SpaceAge Control 160 / 170, Celesco MT2A, First Sensor, UniMeasure LX. Comparison candidates require mechanical and electrical verification; no universal drop-in equivalence is implied.
THREE WIRES. ONE POSITION SIGNAL.
Passive voltage-divider wiring reference
A passive string potentiometer uses three electrical connections. The wiper voltage follows string travel as a proportion of the excitation voltage.
Ideal relation: Vout ≈ Vexc × x / L. At 50% travel and 5V excitation, an ideal zero-offset output is 2.5V.
Illustrative colors only. Confirm the exact model pinout, maximum excitation and power rating. Do not apply 24V unless the specified unit permits it. Conditioned voltage and two-wire current-loop models need their own wiring diagram.
